Pro Quip now has available the new Pertronix Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor featuring the patented Ignitor® II electronic ignition module for small and big block Chevys.
The Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor is designed to provide
maximum ignition performance by utilising the performance benefits of
the Ignitor® II ignition module. Now you can upgrade your outdated
points or stock electronic distributor with a performance proven
distributor that features not only the patented Ignitor® II module, but
also a CNC machined 6061 T-6 polished billet housing and deck.
The Ignitor® II module uses Hall Effect integrated circuits triggered
by samarium cobalt magnets located in a magnet sleeve, and
mounted on the distributor shaft. A powerful micro controller allows
the Ignitor® II module to adjust dwell angle to maintain peak energy
throughout the entire RPM range, increasing both high and low RPM
performance.
The Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor incorporates the latest "Plug N'
Play" technology for easy installation. The distributor comes with a
wiring harness that includes a three pin female weather tight
connector. The three wires are color-coded for simple identification:
Red to Coil +ve or 12-volt ignition source, Black to Coil -ve and White to a good engine ground. The weather tight connector then "Plugs"
into the three pin male connector that is attached to the distributor.
The Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor also has the following features:

The housing and deck are CNC machined, holding a tolerance of +0.000" to -0.003"

The tempered 0.500" diameter shaft has low torsion displacement, resulting in more accurate timing and a longer life

A roller bearing in the top and a self-lubricating oil impregnated copper powder metal bushing in the bottom to reduce friction and high RPM vibration
•
A durable, machined and heat treated gear ensures a tighter mesh with the cam gear, eliminating horse power losses caused by timing fluctuations

Each Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor comes with a factory set performance curve, with additional springs provided for custom curving

The easy to use proprietary mechanical advance adjustment feature of the Flame-Thrower® Billet Distributor also allows for limiting the maximum mechanical advance.

Available in either (stock) Black Cap or Red Cap finish, and is suitable for SMALL BLOCK AND BIG BLOCK CHEVYS ONLY. The use of the Ignitor® II module also makes the unit compatible with most ignition coils rated at 0.6 ohms or greater. For optimum performance, we suggest the installation of the Flame-Thrower® II High Performance Coil (The 'perfect partner').
