Whilst the Pertronix Flame-Thrower® 40,000 volt High Performance Coil is designed for the original Ignitor® and other inductive ignition systems, the Flame-Thrower® II 45,000 volt High Performance Coil has been designed for use with not only the Ignitor® II, but is also compatible with capacitive discharge (CD box) systems.
The Flame-Thrower® II High Performance Coil has a super low 0.6 ohm primary resistance, giving you more than four times the spark energy compared to points. Tests conducted show a 479% improvement over points at 3,000 RPM for an eight cylinder vehicle. That's a whole lot of spark energy, enabling you to run larger plug gaps in your vehicle for greater fuel efficiency and more power!! The Flame-Thrower® II High Performance Coil is available in three styles
(as pictured from left to right):
• Chrome Oil-Filled,
• Black Epoxy for high vibration conditions, and,
• O.E.M. Black Oil-Filled (for that stock look).
The Flame-Thrower® II High Performance Coil is only available in a super low 0.6 ohm primary resistance. The table (to the right) will help you select the correct Coil for your requirements.
